Data Mining and Machine Learning of Emission Lines from Massive Star Systems

Project Description (Abstract):
My research focuses on disks surrounding massive stars. For this project, the student will extract publicly available spectral line data from several archives and format the data. Then they will apply an existing machine learning tool to extract information about the data such as line strength, equivalent widths, and shape. The results will be compared with statistics for these lines available in the literature.
